Step 1: The Quote

For your convenience, we offer 3 ways to receive your FREE Estimate. Once we have your measurements, your estimate, including estimated slab count, will be ready within 24-48 hours.

  • IN-HOME ESTIMATE: We will gladly set up an appointment in your home where one of our experienced team members will take accurate measurements of your surfaces, discuss our service options, and also answer any questions you may have.
  • IN-OFFICE ESTIMATE: We will gladly set up an appointment for you to bring your drawings or plans into our office where one of our experienced team members will meet with you to go over your project, discuss our service options, and answer any questions you may have. At this time, you are also welcome to meet our team, tour our fabrication shop, view examples of our work, and read our past clients’ reviews.
  • SUBMIT A DRAWING: You may email or fax your project drawing to us. Your project drawing can be cabinet drawings, a whole house plan, or a simple birds-eye view of your surfaces. Be sure that in addition to the measurements of your surfaces, you also note any other specific details you desire (if known), such as: backsplash, sink option, edge profile, and if tear-out and/or re-decking is needed. An experienced team member will then contact you to discuss your project and answer any other questions you may have.

Step 2: Contract & Scheduling

Once you have decided to select Stokes Granite as your stone fabricator, please promptly contact us. We will then send you a contract for your review and signature and schedule the dates for your tear-out (if applicable), template, and install. Even if you are unsure of a specific timeframe for your project, an approximate timeframe is still very beneficial, as it allows us to reserve a spot for you on our schedule.  You can view a copy of our Contract Terms under the Customer Resources Section of this page.

Step 3: Selecting Your Materials

Prior to your template, you will need to have:

  • Slabs
    – These need to be purchased and delivered to our shop. Please see our Slab Suppliers page for a list of local suppliers we work with. We also gladly pass on our fabricators discount to our clients as a token of our appreciation for selecting us as your stone fabricator. (Please note: Discounts vary between locations and materials, so please speak with a sales representative at our chosen supplier for specific details.)
  • Fully installed cabinets decked with 5/8″ plywood
  • Sink(s) and faucets
    – These need to be purchased and available at the job site. It is very important for our templator to have these on hand in order to create an accurate template.
    – Apron/Farmhouse style sinks need to be set in place, but not installed.

Step 4: Tear-Out (If Applicable)

If we are doing a tear-out, a typical kitchen with tile countertops and backsplash will, on average, take about 4 hours. We take special care to seal off your project area to minimize dust throughout your home and cover any cabinetry and appliances to prevent damage.  Please review our Tear Out Preparation Sheet before your demo appointment.

Step 5: Template

One of our experienced templators will accurately measure your surfaces and take note of any intricate details of your project to provide you with a beautifully customized finished product. This process typically takes 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the size of your project.

Step 6: Fabrication

Once your template is complete, it is then thoughtfully laid out on your slabs to best showcase your selected stone. If you desire to be included in the layout process and/or see or approve of our design, we will gladly set up an appointment for you to be a part of it. When the layout is confirmed, our highly skilled custom fabrication team then cuts, routers, grinds, and polishes your project surfaces.

Step 7: Installation

Approximately a week to a week and a half after your template, your project will be ready for installation! A typical kitchen installation takes approximately 4-6 hours and is completed in one day. Large projects or projects including more than one area may take longer.
