Granite has low porosity, meaning it doesn’t absorb liquids easily. This makes it highly resistant to stains from common kitchen spills such as oil, wine, or coffee. Regular sealing helps maintain its stain-resistant properties.

Are granite countertops easy to clean?

Granite countertops are easily cleaned with dish soap and warm water, using a soft towel. Never use anything acidic or abrasive, including Windex, Bleach (Clorox and wipes), Lysol, or Pledge. When additional cleaning is needed a 50/50 mix of water and 91% isopropyl alcohol can be used.

Are granite kitchen countertops heat resistant?

Granite has a natural heat resistance that allows it to withstand high temperatures without damage. You can place hot pots and pans directly on the granite surface without worrying about burning or melting the countertop.
